Day 14
Listen to your body! Our bodies are amazing things. They pretty much tell us everything we need to know. As most of you know from my earlier posts I am taking a lot of different supplements from Advocare®, for which I am a distributor. In fact that is the reason for the days on my posts and the different phases. I am doing what is called a 24 Day Challenge, and it’s going pretty well. The reason for this post is that today I don’t feel well. I have noticed that when I take all the supplements all at once it’s like overload.
Everyone, who has done something because a fitness expert told them to, please raise your hand. If you could see me I would be raising both hands. Now, who has followed that advice and it didn’t quit work out. Again I’m raising both hands. Sometimes it was my fault and sometimes it just didn’t work for me.
We are all different. Different things will work for different people. What works for me may not work for you. Now I’m not sure if that is what is going on with the supplements I’m taking. I’m trying to narrow it down to a certain pill that is giving me problems, if that’s it at all.
My point today is, listen to your body. There are a few ways you can accomplish this.
First: Listen to your stomach. Your body will tell you when it is full. LISTEN TO IT! I don’t profess to be the best at this but we have to make this a rule that we live by. If you are full stop eating. I don’t like to think my mom was wrong about anything but if you are full and your plate still has food on it. SAVE IT! YOU DON’T HAVE TO EAT IT! Sometimes I think we feel like we are force to eat something like Bruce Bogtrotter in the movie Matilda. You have choices. You don’t have a Miss Trunchbull standing over us making us eat. Sometimes our brain wants to eat but our stomach is saying you are full. This happens to me late at night before I go to work. Listen to your stomach. Your tongue wants taste that is it. Chew some gum, or have a mint.
Second: Listen to your body while working out. I know you want to work hard I’m not advocating against that, but your body knows the difference between working hard and injuring yourself. You will set your fitness back if you get injured. All I can really say is be wise, and listen your body. Also, let your body recover. YOU’RE NOT A MACHINE! You can’t work out all day long, nor is that good for you. Do your work out and then let your body recover. You will see better results if you allow time for recovery.
Third: Listen to your body when taking supplements. Fitness is all about feeling better physically, and mentally. If you are taking something that makes you feel bad, STOP! Find out what is making you feel bad. Maybe you’re getting sick. Right know I’m testing if it’s a supplement or other considerations that are making me feel a little off.
These are the areas that we need to listen to our bodies. The more we listen in these areas the better result we will have.
